Rin Vs Tide – Hindustan lever ( HUL ) Vs Procter & Gamble ( P&G )The day after.

1 March 2010 1,065 views 4 Comments

In  reply to the open campaign against  Tide , P&G has finally taken some action against. News is out that HUL – RIN  & Tide – P&G  are out to deal matters in court. HUL guys still maintain their stand that the advertisement was an awareness campaign to educate users about  the twisted branding used by tide over the tide naturals product and placing it against the ever popular volume churner Rin.

HUL maintains that they have the data and have done the tests in independent labs of international standards.

HUL was smart enough the place the campaign over the long weekend , giving it enough time to reach maximum potential. P&G is not able to do anything but wait for Tuesday to take any action.

Looks like it was not a very happy holi for P&G this time.

Would keep you guys updated about more news related to this tussle.

Agree Sajja , they picked up the right time over the long weekend to inflict maximum damage. P&G is just hand tied to take any action till tomorrow.

I don’t think P & G could do anything as there is no case of commercial disparagement as what is stated is true comparison? I don’t find any violation of ASCI Regulations as well. Though it is a very bold step taken by HUL, but it is worth.

Yes from the infringement of rights i don’t think P&G has any grounds to prove that. HUL has done it very smartly. As i already said with the cut throat competition and drying up of ideas , one has to resort to such tactics. Hit each other or hit consumers with half truths its the same game !
