DTC - Old era

Not long before  we delhites  had comfortably adapted ourself with the rattling iron boxes moving at a speed of 30 kmph on the road. No car ever cared  to honk at them for them to  get aside  ….   no iron box was a perfect rectangular box.. it had its own edges.. some sharp ended and some rounded a bit..   the  wheel sets seemed to be a misfit…  like a over sized box kept on  some undersized set of wheels with the rear not in line with the front…

We delhites  call it DTC …  constantly reading  of how much loss it makes ever day .. month and year.. and was guzzling the taxpayers money….   of how the drivers never cared to stop where they had to…  still we  lived at peace..  adapting to the mess and still  minding our own work….

Then the over ambitious group of BLUE and RED Lines.. which were the fast efficient  and stop them where you want them…..  these guys  happen to step on the gas harder than required.. bumping  bikes.. knocking off passengers..  droping a few  here and crushing a few there…   it was time that these called for their own demise…  the  red’s were changed to blue’s .. Red seemed to be a more  riskier color…. coz it resembled blood.  then the blues were painted green.. when CNG happened to be the talk of the town…  and now  the janta spoke up…  elections were just a year away and  the government had to do something… voila… when it  comes to the kissa kursi ka ! money is  anytime ready…

just like a magic want all the iron boxes  vanished and now you see the smoother giants…  power steering.. low floor.. comfy seats….  electronic sign boards. Wow took me a second to realize that i was still in delhi.. yes  now on the roads i see these clean looking mean machines .. yes and they respond when i honk and want them to get back to their lane and give me the right to move forward…  There been a few cases where poor maintenance has  caused some  sparks.. but no loss.  still they look better and the city landscape looks much better….
