Europes largest car maker Volkswagen has launched Polo in India.  Polo at a price of Rs 4.34 lakh for the

petrol variant and Rs 5.32 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)for the diesel variant.

Volkswagen  has manufactured polo from its chakan plant . The plant has a annual capacity of 1.11 cars . Though polo is priced competitively against  other models in the same segment , it comes loaded with features like tilt and telescopic  steering and special green tinted heat blocking glass.

Beetle , Jetta , PAssat and Touareg are some of the models that Volkswagen sells in INDIA. But with the introduction of polo they expect to churn good volumes.

Polo is out to compete with Swift , i10 and  the competitive pricing is because of the localisation of polo. Its being built in india and close to 50 % components are being sourced from vendors in India.
